Mentoring and Coaching

Aims:

To raise awareness and improve the capacity of managers and supervisors to guide and coach team members to better performance whilst understanding the need for supportive management.

Objectives:

By the end of the course candidates will be able to:

·        Define the key skills of mentoring and coaching

·        List the elements of the coaching process

·        Assess their own coaching and mentoring strengths and weaknesses

·        Start a programme of self-development as a coach or mentor

One Day Course Programme

The course uses a mixture of theory and practical input to assess the candidates’ understanding of the role of the mentor in business.  It also draws on the coaching process to help candidates to set goals for self-improvement and explains the process of giving and receiving feedback as an aid to development.
